3C2A’s Rebecca Ensing named to CSC 30 Under 30 Class of 2024
SACRAMENTO – 3C2A Assistant Director of Operations Rebecca Ensing received prestigious professional recognition on Tuesday when it was announced she was selected as a member of the College Sports Communicators 30 Under 30 Class of 2024.
The honor recognizes emerging athletics communications professionals at all levels of college sports in strategic, creative and digital spaces. Ensing is among an impressive group of honorees chosen from a record 176 nominations for the CSC award.
“Rebecca has been a valued addition to the 3C2A since joining us in 2022,” said Executive Director Jennifer Cardone. “Our association has made great strides in our visual branding and she’s been a primary and integral part of those efforts. She is a talented young professional with a bright future and we’re fortunate to have her working on behalf of our student-athletes.”
Ensing is a product of California community colleges after attending and competing as a swimming student-athlete at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria. She gained valuable experience working in the athletics department before transferring to San Diego State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in recreation administration. She later moved on to the University of San Francisco where she earned her master’s degree in sports management.
Ensing has had a tremendous impact on the 3C2A during her brief tenure, most notably in its visual representation through its social media, website and branding efforts. The association rebranded itself in 2023 and Ensing was an integral part of the overall design, color selections and implementation of the new marks, strategically using them in social media efforts, which she updated and refreshed upon her arrival. Ensing has launched several social media campaigns, particularly during the postseason, bringing more attention to the more than 24,000 student-athletes who compete in 25 sports.
Ensing conceptualized the overall look for the new 3C2A website, which was re-launched in 2023, helping to create a more user-friendly experience for visitors while providing information more conveniently.
“The remarkable individuals recognized in the CSC Under 30 Class of 2024 represent a diverse and talented group of young professionals working in sports communications today,” 2024-25 CSC President Kevin Trainor said. “This distinguished list of honorees features outstanding sports communicators from throughout our membership. Their innovative approach to blending traditional communications methods with content creation, social media and other emerging technologies will allow us to effectively connect with our audiences while also helping to shape the future of our organization and our profession. Congratulations to all of those included in this year’s class!”
Nominees must be 29 years old or younger on December 31, 2024 and a current 2024-25 CSC member.
This year’s class includes 10 members from different levels of NCAA Division I, six Division II members, 10 Division III members, two NAIA members, one member from a Canadian institution, and one two-year college member. Honorees in the 2024 class were chosen by a voting group composed of the Executive Board of Directors, the Advisory Council, CSC staff, leaders from all CSC committees and selected past winners.
