Laney's Jada Hunter, Mt. SAC's Daisia Mitchell top All-State Women's Basketball Teams
Two freshmen--Laney College's Jada Hunter and Mt. San Antonio's Daisia Mitchell--were their region's selections as the CCCWBCA 2023-2024 State Players of the Year.
As the North MVP, Hunter helped Laney to the Co-Bay Valley Conference championship as she leads the #6 seed Eagles into the postseason. Hunter is averaging 18.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists while proving to be one of the best defensive players in leading the state in steals at a 6.3 a game clip.

South MVP Mitchell led South #1 seeded Mt. SAC into the regional playoffs after the Mounties won the program's fourth straight South Coast Conference North Division title. Mitchell averages 18.3 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.9 steals, and 1.4 blocks as a true all-around player.
The 36 players on the All-State teams represent the best of the best in women's basketball as Mt. SAC, #1 North seed Butte, defending state champ Orange Coast, Folsom Lake, Glendale, Sierra, and Moorpark all had two players make the elite squads.
The selected players all will take part in the 3C2A Regional Playoffs beginning with first round games tonight (February 28), then top eight seeds hosting in round 2 on Saturday, March 2. The regional finals take place the following Saturday, Mar. 9 as the top four from each region advance to the 3C2A State Championships Mar. 14, 16-17 at Mt. San Antonio College.
