In their highest scoring game of the season, the Mt. SAC Women's Soccer Team delivered a dominant performance against Compton College on Friday, October 11, securing a 7-0 win.
The scoring frenzy began early, with Kathryn Davis finding the net just two minutes into the match, assisted by Michelle Vazquez. Within a minute, Davis set up Noely Rodriguez for her first goal of the game. Vivian Lopez followed suit in the seventh minute, scoring off another assist from Vazquez. Rodriguez added her second goal in the 40th minute, bringing the halftime score to an impressive 4-0.
In the second half, Eden Ramirez opened the scoring in the 60th minute with a goal assisted by Leah Montelongo. Just ten minutes later, Lopez struck again, netting her second goal of the game. Sofia Torres capped off the impressive performance with a final goal in the 83rd minute, solidifying the Mounties' supremacy.
With this victory, the Mounties improve to an overall record of 6-4-3 and are currently leading the South Coast Conference North with a perfect 2-0 record. The team will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next match against Cerritos College on Tuesday, October 15, at 1:30 PM.
