NORWALK -- After a tough loss on Friday, the Orange Coast College softball team took its frustrations out on Southwestern College and toppled the Jaguars in five innings, 21-6, on Saturday at Cerritos College.
OCC (1-1) needed only four innings worth of at-bats to pound out 18 hits, including four doubles against the shellshocked Jaguars (0-3).
Leila Chavez went 4-for-5 with two runs and three RBI, Hailey Pichardo went 3-for-3 with four runs and four RBI, Taylor Andolsek added three hits, scored four runs and drove in one, Natasha Ellison went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and Emilie Lapena scored twice and drove in three for the Pirates.
The Pirates will return to action on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at Long Beach City College, beginning at 2:30 p.m. OCC's next home game will be on Thursday, Feb. 9 against El Camino, beginning at 2 p.m.
