COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College women's soccer team grabbed a first-half lead and never looked back as the Pirates rolled past Fullerton College, 2-0, on Friday at the OCC Soccer Complex.
Stephanie Serrato scored both goals for the Pirates (4-3-2, 2-0), while assists were contributed by Clarissa Sullivan and Tess Doucette.
Serrato's first goal came off a back-feed from Doucette and the Pirate sophomore beat the defense and scored past FC goalkeeper Kyra Mangini, who finished with nine saves, including a couple of point-blank stops to keep the score close.
Coast made it 2-0 just six minutes later when Serrato took a Sullivan pass and ripped a shot into the upper-corner of the goal.
OCC goalkeeper Leila Saldic enjoyed a relatively quiet contest and finished with five saves.
The Pirates will return to action on Tuesday at Santa Ana College, beginning at 3 p.m. OCC's next home match will take place on Friday against Cypress, also at 3 p.m.
