OFF AND RUNNING AT 5-0
Fullerton remains unbeaten at 5-0 with a nice 77-54 win over visiting LA Trade Tech on Saturday.
It's been a minute since the FC women's basketball team started the season with an undefeated 5-0 record as this talented Hornet team under head coach Dan Desmond has been playing great team basketball. The last FC squad to win 5 straight at the top of the season was the 2014-15 team under head coach Marcia Foster (6 straight wins). Since the program's start under the COA (now 3C2A) in 1978, there have only been 8 teams to pull off this feat.
For the game against the Beavers of LA Trade Tech, the Hornets did not dilly-dally in this one enforcing an early 18-7 lead by the 2-minute mark of the first quarter. With over three minutes until halftime, Kaylee Shimoda drove the lane for a nice layup that put FC up 31-17. By the break, Fullerton owned a 40-24 advantage.
The Hornets maintained its distance for the remainder of the second half bumping its lead to a healthy 69-45 lead before closing it out for the non-conference victory.
Up Next: The Hornets (5-0 overall) will play a tough non-conference road-game against No. 6 in the state Glendale College on Wednesday, November 20th at 7:00 pm.
