Huston Hits Game-Winning 3 With 2.4 Left
Two days after losing on a buzzer beater at MiraCosta, Logan Huston knocked down the game-winning 3-pointer with 2.4 seconds left to get past Southwestern, 76-73, in front of the home crowd on Friday Night. Huston played all but one minute and scored a game-high 23 points to go with three assists and two steals to help the Knights improve to 14-5 overall and 6-1 in the PCAC.

Kenny Gonzalez had 11 points, two assists, and four steals, while Abraham Kamano added 10 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.
San Diego City fell behind by as many as 12 points midway through the first half, but battled back and used an 8-0 run in the final four minutes of the half, capped off by a buzzer-beating 3 from Brandon Bento-Jackson, to go into halftime with a 36-35 lead.
Southwestern (12-7, 5-2 PCAC) responded with an 8-0 spurt to start the second half and regained a 7-point advantage.
The Knights kept it close throughout the second half and got to within two or three points on multiple occasions, but the Jaguars, who hit five of their eight 3-pointers in the second half, answered with a timely 3 each time.
San Diego City cut the deficit down to one on a Gonzalez layup with 5:51 left and then finally regained the lead on a 3-pointer by Cameron Marshall.
After Southwestern tied it on the next possession, Gonzalez scored eight of City's next 10 points on two layups and two jumpers to put the Knights ahead by four with 47 seconds remaining.
Southwestern's Ayden Lockett got his team back to within two after hitting a pair of free throws and then a steal and layup by Jartavious Jackson tied the game at 73-73 with 19.7 left.
Without taking a time out, Huston took the inbound pass and dribbled up the left side of the court where he settled in for a step-back 3 that splashed through the net with 2.4 showing on the clock.
The Jaguars took a time out to set up a play, but Derek Edmond was not able to get his 3-point attempt off in time and the Knights hung on for the crucial win.
With MiraCosta defeating Palomar on Friday, the Knights got back into a 3-way tie for first place in the PCAC with those teams.
The Knights will travel to Palomar on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in another tough test and will be back home at Harry West Gym next Friday at 5 p.m. against Grossmont.
