Mt. SAC Women’s Soccer Opens Conference Play with 3-0 Victory Over Pasadena City College

Pasadena - Opening their first conference match with a win, the Mt. SAC Women's Soccer Team put on a dominant performance, defeating Pasadena City College 3-0 on Tuesday, October 8. With this victory, the Mounties improve their record to 5-4-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

The Mounties took charge early, with Michelle Vazquez scoring in the 21st minute, assisted by Alyssa Shaughnessy. The team carried this momentum into the second half when Noely Rodriguez added a second goal in the 58th minute, showcasing her skills with an unassisted strike. Shaughnessy found the back of the net in the 65th minute, scoring the third and final goal of the game and ensuring a win for the Mounties.

Goalkeeper Anai Olmedo recorded five saves, thwarting any chances from the Pasadena attack, and securing a shutout for the team. Overall, Mt. SAC outshot Pasadena City College 17 to 10, demonstrating their offensive dominance throughout the match.

Next up, the Mt. SAC Women's Soccer Team will take on the Compton College Tartars on Friday, October 11 at 1:30 PM.
