No. 25 Renegades roll to sweep of Gavilan

FREMONT – The No. 25 state-ranked Ohlone College women's volleyball team wasted little time in earning a 25-5, 25-15, 25-2 Coast Conference sweep of visiting Gavilan College on Wednesday night.
The Renegades were able to bounce back from their five-set loss on Saturday to Cuesta College that snapped their 12-match winning streak. Wednesday's win improved Ohlone to 17-3 overall and 3-0 in Coast Conference play.
Rilee Nobori led Ohlone with 8 kills in the win. Kara Mathews added 6 kills while Savannah Le and Tiamaye Carlton chipped in with 4 kills each.
Alicia Cornejo was impressive on the serve with a season-high 11 aces. She also added a team-high 10 digs to go with 4 assists, and 3 kills.
Up next for the Renegades is a Coast Conference match on Friday (Oct. 18) at West Valley College.
