Pfitzner Hits Three Homers in PCAC Opening Win
Jacob Pfitzner blasted three home runs in his first three at bats to help the Knights defeat Grossmont, 12-6, at Morley Field to open the PCAC season. Aiden Joaquin struck out five in 5.1 innings to earn his first win in his first start as the Knights improved to 8-5 overall and 1-0 in conference.

The Grossmont Griffins had a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the second inning, but Pfitzner cut that lead in half after hitting a solo home run to left field in his first appearance at the plate.
Grossmont took a 3-1 lead in the third inning after scoring on a wild pitch, but Pfitzner responded once again in the bottom half of the inning with another homer to left field, this time a 2-run shot to tie the game at 3-3.
The Knights grabbed a 4-3 lead in the 4th on an RBI-single by Brock Bass, which was followed by a Quinn Johnson RBI-single and then an Alex Chacon 2-run home run to put he Knights ahead, 7-3.
Pfitner came up for his third at-bat in the 5th and hit his third home run of the day, a rocket over the center field fence to give City an 8-3 lead. Later in the 5th, Jesse Chacon came crossed home plate on an Isaiah Hilke sacrifice fly to push City's lead to 9-3.
Grossmont scored twice in the top of the sixth, but Landyn Magina, Hilke, and Jackson Ely all hit RBI-singles in the bottom of the sixth to put the game away and go ahead, 12-5.
The Knights face the Griffins once again tomorrow at Grossmont at 2 p.m. The Knights will be back at Morley Field on March 7 vs. Southwestern at 2 p.m.
