SANTA BARBARA, CA – A fabulous five-minute stretch in the first half was all the SBCC men's soccer team needed to pull away against Allan Hancock on Friday night at La Playa Stadium, as the Vaqueros won their second straight at home 3-2.

Things didn't get off to a great start for the home side, as a cross from Jesus Hinojosa was put away by Jose Baro to put the Bulldogs (3-12-3, 2-5-1) ahead less than a minute in.

However, SBCC (10-4-4, 5-3) would score three goals in the span of five minutes to snag an all-important two-goal advantage.

In the 22nd, Brandon Garcia De La Fuente cut inside from the left wing and found Timo Jansen in space approaching the six-yard box. Jansen made a sliding effort to hit a crisp, low shot just under the keeper's reach to tie it at 1-1.

Less than two minutes later, De La Fuente surprised a Hancock midfielder with a fine tackle to squeeze the ball over to Jansen. He found Bart Muns in a central position on the break, who was able to turn and find Dylan Rogers making a run into the box. Rogers took one dribble and fired a left-footed shot in to put the Vaqueros up by a goal, giving him his first goal of the season.

Not long after, it was Muns once again on the assist, as he set up De La Fuente for a shot from about 13 yards out. De La Fuente curled a picture-perfect shot into the top right corner that left no chance of being saved.

The Bulldogs would get one back in the final 15 minutes of the match, but it wouldn't be enough to complete the comeback. Goalkeeper Danial Baradaran finished with four saves for the Vaqueros.

Muns enjoyed the second two-assist night of his Vaquero career. Jansen increased his team-lead in assists with his ninth of the season. De La Fuente netted his third goal of the year and second assist.

The Vaqueros will look to claim their third straight win in their next outing at LA Mission on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 6:00 p.m.
