BAKERSFIELD, CA - In a hard-fought match, the Bakersfield College women's soccer team fell 2-0 to College of the Canyons Cougars on the road. Canyons took control early, finding the net in the 28th minute. Bakersfield's defense, led by goalkeeper Mercedes Ramirez, worked tirelessly, with Ramirez making 11 saves against Canyons' 21 shots. Despite BC's efforts, including four shots on goal, they struggled to break through Canyons' defense. The Cougars extended their lead in the 62nd minute sealing the victory.
With the loss, the team moves to 6-8-3 on the season. The Renegades return home on Tuesday with a 12:30PM game against Antelope Valley.
