HORNETS TOO HOT FOR COMETS

The No. 2 Fullerton College men's basketball team remained red-hot on at home against Palomar College Tuesday night beating the Comets 107-86.

The new CCCMBCA state poll came out on Monday with the Hornets moving up a spot to No. 2. After tonight's home-win, Fullerton's overall record now stands at 8-1, while Palomar drops to 3-4 overall.

Fullerton powered ahead early with a 22-7 lead that was capped off by a three-point shot by Justin Davis at the 15-minute-mark. Jaquari Miles drove to the basket for two-points lifting the Hornets 40-22 with six minutes left in the first half. By the time both teams cleared the floor heading to their locker-rooms, FC owned a 51-38 advantage.

The Hornets remained well-ahead for the second half even pushing their largest lead of 29 with just over four minutes to go in the game. 

It was a good night all-around for Fullerton shooting 58.5% from the floor, while hitting 82.6% from the free-throw line. FC outrebounded the Comets 39-22, while outscoring them 19-3 on second chance points. 

Jaqari Miles came off the bench to lead all scorers with 19 points (4-9 three-pointers) with 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Addy G'Bye scored 16 points (4-6 three-pointers) had 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal. Justin Davis and JQ Strong chipped in with 13 points each. Davis had 5 rebounds and Strong had 4. Three players scored 10 points in Joe Grahovac, Shawn Woodson, and Brayden Smith.

Up Next: No. 2 Fullerton (8-1 overall) will host another one in the Nest this Friday, December 6th vs. LA Southwest. Tipoff is at 6:00 pm.
