TORRANCE, Calif. - Catherine Curwood-Wagner scored in the 87th minute to equalize for the Warriors women's soccer team against Long Beach City College in their 1-1 draw on Friday afternoon at the Warrior Soccer Field.
Curwood-Wagner scored her team leading 6th goal of the season for the Warriors who moved to 7-3-3 overall and 3-0-1 in conference play.
The Warriors came away with a positive result after being outshot 24-to-11 for the game. Jordan Stemberga came up big for the Warriors with 8 saves.
Long Beach took the lead in the 28th minute on a goal behind Lorena Moreno and kept the lead 1-0 at halftime.
The Vikings kept the pressure on the Warriors defense as they outshot ECC 14-to-6 in the second half. The Warriors keeper made seven saves in the second half alone.
The Warriors finally found a breakthrough in the 87th minute after Claire Mahon touched a ball ahead to Catherine Curwood-Wagner inside the box who was able to evade her defenders and slot it past the Vikings keeper to give them a late equalizer.
The Warriors will remain home for their next three games beginning with Pasadena City on Tuesday, October 22nd. Kick-off is set for 1:30 p.m.
