Glendora, Calif. – The Mt. SAC Baseball team continued their dominant run, extending their winning streak to 18 games after sweeping Citrus College with a 6-2 win on Thursday, March 20. With the victory, the Mounties improved to 22-3 overall and remain undefeated in South Coast Conference play with a 9-0 record. HOW IT HAPPENED:

Coming off a 6-2 loss to Mt. SAC on Tuesday, March 18, Citrus College took the lead on Thursday, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth. An RBI double from Luke Willison and an RBI single by Ezekiel Escalera put the Owls ahead 2-0.

Mt. SAC responded in the top of the sixth, cutting the deficit to 2-1 when Jackson Giacone scored on an error by the Owls.

The Mounties tied it up in the top of the seventh when Citrus issued a walk to Tyler Stull that brought in Landon White. Miguel Perez followed with a single to right field, driving in Ty Thomas. Giacone then grounded into a double play, allowing Diego Ortiz to score, putting Mt. SAC ahead 4-2.

In the ninth, Mt. SAC sealed the win with two more runs. Giacone's hit scored Perez, and an error by Citrus' shortstop allowed Stull to cross the plate, making it 6-2 in favor of the Mounties.
