FULLERTON, Calif. - The Vaqueros women's basketball team lost in the first round of the Fullerton College Holiday Crossover to No.22 Citrus College Owls, 63-52.
The Owls disrupted Santa Barbara's game plan and prevented Isis Poteet from earning her sixth consecutive double-double.
"Credit to Citrus; they took us out of our rhythm in the half court," said head coach Sandrine Krul.
Amarisse Camargo led Santa Barbara with 10 points off the bench and added six rebounds (three offensive) and a pair of steals. Aariah Fox provided support at both ends of the floor, finishing with eight points, 10 rebounds (four offensive), three assists, four steals and two blocks.
"Amarisse off the bench with 10 is a huge plus and Aariah played amazingly well on both ends," said Krul.
The Vaqueros will be back in action at 5 p.m. Dec. 20 when they take on the host Fullerton Hornets.
"Every season you get one bad game and that was us tonight," said Krul. "We were under our rebounding, scoring and steals. So thank goodness we have a game tomorrow to get back to our healthy competition."
