HORNET SWEEP

HORNET SWEEP: Fullerton swept the Dons 3-0: 25-16, 26-24, 25-19 on the road in an Orange Empire Conference match Friday night.

FC won the first game convincingly, but the Dons controlled the action early in the second set getting a pair of early service aces kills as the Santa Ana built a 7-3 lead. Fullerton kept pace but wasn't able to make a move until late outscoring the Dons 7-1 to win the set 26-24.

The Hornets seemed to cruise to an easy third game win, but the Dons would not go down quietly. Fullerton established a 16-8 lead, and the Dons began to battle back pulling within three at 20-17.  The Hornets eventually retook control using a 5-2 run to close out the Dons for good.

Up Next: The Hornets (10-10, 6-7) wrap up their season next Wednesday, November 14th when they host Cypress College.  Game time is at 6:00 pm.
