BC Wins on the Road against Glendale College

GLENDALE, CA - The Bakersfield College women's soccer team edged out the Glendale College Vaqueros in a tight 2-1 victory in Glendale, CA. The Renegades dominated early, scoring twice in the first half, while Glendale made a late push but fell short in the end.

BC took the lead in the 10th minute with Alexandra Gallardo scoring the opening goal, assisted by Emily Vincent. Gallardo doubled her tally just 14 minutes later, in the 24th minute, with an assist by Melanie Mendizabal, giving the Renegades a 2-0 advantage at halftime.

Despite Glendale's pressure in the second half, Bakersfield's defense held strong. Glendale had a total of 15 shots, with 9 on target, but Bakersfield goalkeeper Mercedes Ramirez was a wall, making 8 saves. Glendale finally broke through in the 80th minute, however, it was too little, too late as BC held on for the win.

Bakersfield recorded 7 shots in the game, 5 on target, and benefited from an early offensive burst.

With the win, Bakersfield improves to 5-5-2 on the season and returns home on Friday, October 18th to take on Citrus at 4:00 PM.
