With an important game looming Friday against No. 1 ranked Ventura Friday, the GCC Women's Basketball Team sprinted towards the opportunity as they blitzed Rio Hondo 75-59 Thursday in their own holiday tournament.

GCC led 19-10 after the first quarter and 41-25 at the half on its way to its 11th straight win to improve to 11-1 with No. 1 ranked In the state Ventura coming into the Verdugo Gym Friday for a 3 pm matchup. Glendale is ranked No. 11 in Southern California in the Dec. 16 CCCWCBA poll.

Glendale shot 56 percent from the field Thursday outrunning and gunning the Roadrunners with four players in double figures led by Tess Oakley-Stilson with 20 points and six assists and Penelopi Trieu had 16. Gloria Bianchi and Zoe Rose had 12 points each and point guard Vicky Oganyan had a game high 10 rebounds.
