GCC Lady Vaqs are now 5-3 after splitting a pair of games against Rio Hondo and Orange Coast Dec. 6-7
Learning from adversity might be exactly what helps define the GCC Women's Basketball Team during the early stages of the 2024-25 season as the Lady Vaq split a pair of games in the Orange Coast College Tournament last week beating Rio Hondo College 59-46 Friday Dec 6 and falling to host Orange Coast College 63-59 to drop to 5-3 this season. The loss marks the third game Glendale has dropped against teams rankled in the top five state in the pre-season rankings including College of the Sequoias and Moorpark College.
 
In the win over Rio Hondo, Malia Ulery had 16 points and three assists, Shushan Krikorian had 10 points and Lisette Mesa, Sammy Velasquez and Aniah Bradley all had seven points each and Mesa added seven assists and Shadel Ffrench had six points and eight rebounds. In the loss to OCC, Ulery had 20 points, five rebounds and four assists and Ffrench had 14 points and 17 rebounds and Krikorian had 11 points.
 
GCC Continues non-conference play this week at Irvine Valley College Saturday Dec. 14 at 3 pm.
