No. 12 Long Beach Volleyball took down No. 19 Orange Coast College last Friday evening in a five-set thriller.
The Vikings dominated the first two sets, winning 25-12 and 25-19. The Pirates fought back, taking the next two sets 27-25 and 25-23, but the Vikings secured the first victory of the season with a 15-6 fifth and final set win.
Enaya Vaielua was the standout on offense for the Vikings as she led the team with 15 kills, 14 assists, and four service aces. Ryannah Gagau also was a force at the net with 11 kills, six assists, and five block assists.
The Vikings return to action at No. 15 Moorpark on Wednesday, August 28 at 6 p.m.
