The Long Beach City College women's soccer team secured a commanding 9-0 victory over East Los Angeles College on Tuesday afternoon. This improved their overall record to 7-1-3 while maintaining an undefeated 3-0 standing in the South Coast Conference.
Lorena Moreno led the offensive charge, netting a hat trick with assists from Leila Rodriguez, Josefina English, and Laila Alfadhiel. The Vikings extended their lead in the first half with goals from Camila Velasco, Sydney Trump, and Alfadhiel, closing the half with a 6-0 advantage over the Huskies.
The dominance continued into the second half as Bryanna Duarte, Alfadhiel, and Samantha Soria each found the back of the net, securing the 9-0 shutout. Goalkeeper Jackie Garibay was a force in goal, stopping every shot to earn the clean sheet.
"I'm proud of the group for their strong start and taking the right approach throughout the game," said Head Coach Tino Nunez.
The Vikings will return to action on Friday, Oct. 18, for their next conference matchup against El Camino College at 1:30 p.m.
