Falcons Secure Dominant Win in Home Match Against Las Positas

Folsom - The Folsom Lake Falcons continued their strong start to the 2024 season with a convincing 4-0 victory over Las Positas in a non-conference game at home. Coming off a 4-0 win against Madera College, the Falcons entered the game with a 1-0-1 record and did not disappoint the home crowd.

The Falcons wasted no time taking control of the match. Just over two minutes into the game, Alivia Ivey opened the scoring with an unassisted goal, setting the tone for the rest of the match. Folsom Lake continued to press, and by the 35th minute, they had extended their lead to 2-0 with a goal from Rachael George.

Only seconds later, Tacori Abril, assisted by Tea Reyes, made it 3-0, putting the game further out of reach for Las Positas. The Falcons continued to dominate in the second half, with Reyes herself adding a fourth goal in the 62nd minute, sealing the 4-0 win.

Folsom Lake's defense was impenetrable, not allowing a single shot on goal throughout the game. Goalkeepers Linnea Sybersma, Celeste Craighead, and Madi Stroh combined for the clean sheet, as the Falcons' backline shut down any offensive efforts from Las Positas.

The Falcons controlled every aspect of the game, from shots on goal to corner kicks, demonstrating their depth and skill across the pitch. With this win, Folsom Lake improves to 2-0-1 and continues to build momentum early in the season.

Folsom Lake looks to maintain their unbeaten streak as they prepare for their next matchup on Tuesday, September 3rd when they take on Fresno City College at 6 pm at Falcon Soccer Stadium.
