The No. 20 Long Beach City College women's basketball team opened South Coast Conference play in dominant fashion, cruising past El Camino with a decisive 74-26 victory. The win improves the Vikings to 13-6 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
"It was a great way to start conference competition," said Assistant Coach Gregg Sii. "Every game is another opportunity for us to improve."
Brillana Boyd led the charge with a stellar all-around performance, posting 17 points, eight rebounds, and five steals. Kimberly Cruz-Martinez was the playmaker of the night, dishing out 10 assists, while Yesenia Garcia and Cristin Duncan each contributed 10 points to fuel the Vikings' offense.
The Vikings will look to keep the momentum going when they take on Compton College in their next conference matchup on Friday, Jan. 24, at 5 p.m.
