Top-Ranked Vikings Dominate Cerritos, Extend Conference Win Streak to 79 Games
The No. 1 women’s water polo team surged past Cerritos College with a 21-3 conference victory.
The top-ranked Long Beach City College women's water polo team surged past Cerritos College with a commanding 21-3 conference victory on Wednesday afternoon.
The Vikings' defense was rock-solid, with goalkeepers Janay Robertson and Marlene Isaacson anchoring the net. Robertson posted 11 saves in the first half, while Isaacson added 10 saves in the second, keeping Cerritos at bay.
On the offensive front, attacker Madalyn Barley was unstoppable, scoring seven goals. Center Jovana Bogosavljevic added four goals and assisted the Vikings in their relentless attack.
With this victory, the Vikings extended their undefeated run in the South Coast Conference to 6-0 and notched their 79th consecutive conference win, solidifying their dominance.
"Our communication improved as the game went on, and we were pumped to be out there," said Barley.
The Vikings will return to action this weekend, hosting their annual Battle at the Beach Tournament.
