The No. 19 Long Beach City College women's soccer team defeated the LA Harbor College Seahawks 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon in another South Coast Conference matchup. With the win, the Vikings hold an 8-1-4 overall record and are undefeated in conference with a 4-0-1 record.
Goalkeeper Jackie Garibay was a force in the goal, as she kept the Seahawks scoreless for 90 minutes.
Lorena Moreno led the offensive attack with 2 goals and 2 assists, followed by Laila Alfadhiel with 3 goals and 1 assist. Angelina Garibay, Sydney Trump, and Miah Mancilla also contributed one goal each. Mancilla sealed the 9-0 victory with a header in the left side of the Seahawks net.
"Coming off an injury, I have my teammates, coaches, and trainer, Mary Aja, that support me, and with that, I continue to trust the process," said Mancilla after the game.
The Vikings will be back on the field on Friday, October 25 at Los Angeles City College at 4:30 p.m.
