Falcons Soar Over Bear Cubs with Dominant 6-0 Win

In a powerful showcase of offense and defense, the Folsom Lake College Falcons (17-1-2) swept past Santa Rosa Junior College's Bear Cubs with a decisive 6-0 victory. The Falcons, who have displayed consistent strength all season, took full control from the outset, building an early lead that left the Bear Cubs struggling to catch up.

The Falcons quickly asserted their dominance. Just six minutes into the game, Kamaya Yazzie opened the scoring with an assist from Grace Pratt, putting Folsom Lake on the board. Yazzie continued her strong first-half performance with another goal at 24:14, this time assisted by Tea Reyes, giving the Falcons a 2-0 lead. By halftime, Santa Rosa's defense was already feeling the pressure, managing only four shots on goal compared to Folsom Lake's eleven.

If the first half was impressive, the second half was a showcase of Folsom Lake's depth and offensive synergy. Alivia Ivey struck at 60:05 with an assist from Reyes, making it 3-0. The goals continued to pour in, with Kylie Deome, Josie Reynolds, and Maryn Rogers each scoring to seal the match. Santa Rosa's goalkeeper Dorothy Nickel made eight saves but was unable to keep pace with the relentless Falcon offense, who registered 19 shots, with 14 on target.

Folsom Lake's defense held Santa Rosa scoreless, limiting them to just five shots, only four of which were on target. Goalkeepers Linnea Sybersma and Celeste Craighead combined to record four saves, with Sybersma completing most of the shutout. The Falcons' physical play also came through, with yellow cards issued to Yazzie, Tacori Abril, and Rogers.

This win underscores Folsom Lake's impressive season and solidifies their position as a formidable force heading into the Big 8 Championship match.
