VALLEY GLEN, CA - The Bakersfield College women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw against the LA Valley College Monarchs, putting on a dominant offensive performance but ultimately unable to secure the win.
The Renegades found themselves trailing early when LA Valley scored in the 16th minute. However, Bakersfield regrouped and responded with determination. Their pressure paid off in the 34th minute when Marlenis Andrades, assisted by Alexandra Gallardo, netted the equalizer.
The second half saw BC relentlessly attack LA Valley's defense, taking an impressive 15 shots and racking up four corner kicks. Despite these efforts, LA Valley's goalkeeper made 13 saves in the second half alone to keep the scoreline level. The Renegades's defense stayed solid, allowing only one shot from LA Valley in the second half, which goalkeeper Dulce Morales easily handled.
With the tie, Bakersfield moves 6-7-3 on the season and will head back on the road to take on Canyons on Friday.
