
Women's Basketball Mid-Season Recap
The Diablo Valley College (DVC) Women's Basketball team has faced a challenging 2024-25 season, currently holding a 3-12 overall record and 0-3 in conference play.
Despite the tough schedule, the Vikings have showcased resilience and determination, highlighted by key wins against Foothill (62-42), Los Medanos (59-48), and Contra Costa (61-34).
Freshman point guard Kendall McClure has been a standout performer, leading the team in scoring with 164 points (12.6 PPG) and shooting 31.1% from the field and 29.2% from three-point range.
Sophomore combo guard Tegan Gaines has also been a consistent offensive threat, averaging 13.8 PPG with a team-high 36.6% field goal percentage, while sophomore guard Te'Niyah Lindsey has contributed 121 points with her energy and leadership on the court.
Defensively, freshman forward/center Abena Yeboah has been a key presence in the paint.
As a team, the Vikings average 48.3 points per game while shooting 29.1% from the field and grabbing 28.5 rebounds per game, reflecting areas for growth as they continue through Big 8 Conference play.
With upcoming matchups against Sacramento City and Folsom Lake, the Vikings will look to build on their progress and finish the season strong.
