Citrus College Women's Basketball hosted Fullerton College last night, Tuesday, December 3rd, in a game that resulted in a 77-61 defeat.
Citrus College goes to 5-2 overall on the season while Fullerton College moves to 7-1 on the year.
The Owls led the Hornets 20-15 after the first quarter, but the Hornets responded well in the second quarter, outscoring the Owls 27-10 to take a 42-30 lead into halftime.
Fullerton College also outscored Citrus in the third and fourth quarters, surviving an Owl comeback late in the fourth quarter.
Jolleen Olia led the Owls with 19 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals. Breanna Escobedo added 16 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Samantha Martinez recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, adding three assists and one steal.
The Owls will have a chance to bounce back as they travel to Cypress College this weekend for the Charger Classic Tournament. Citrus College will face East Los Angeles College in their first matchup, this Friday, December 6th at 1 p.m.
