Antelope Valley College Baseball won all three games in their conference series against the LA Mission Eagles. Games 1 and 3 were initially scheduled to be played at LA Mission but were moved to AVC due to rainy weather. The Marauders won game one 7-6, the second game 17-16, and the final contest 21-1.
Game two's win came courtesy of a walk-off hit in the 10th inning by Cody Turner. Turner finished 4-for-6 with 2 RBI in the win and had a team-high 10 RBI and 9 hits in the series.
Other series leaders include Gavin Klennert, who totaled 7 hits with 6 RBI, Braydan Salinas, with 5 hits and 5 RBI, and Elias Frainier and Noah Sanchez, who had 5 hits and 4 RBI each. Eddy Stone and KB Bell recorded 4 hits each, with Stone batting in 5 runs and Bell batting in 4.
Eddy Stone, KB Bell, Conor Baughman, and Cody Turner (2) all homered in the series. Ashton Fitzpatrick, Camden Clark, and Jacob Maldonado split the pitching duties in game 1. Aidan Morgan, Chris Turpin, and Gilberto Beltran had 4 strikeouts each in game two's win, and Cody Turner recorded 10 Ks pitching 5 innings in the final contest. AVC scored their season series-best 45 runs off 54 hits while committing just 2 errors.
Gavin Klennert leads the Western State-South Conference in RBI with 39, followed by Turner with 38 and Braydan Salinas with 35. The Marauders are 18-4 overall and are in second place in the conference at 5-1. They will next play a 3-game nin-conference series against Porterville College beginning at home Tuesday, March 18.
