TAFT, CA – Head Women's Basketball Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. has the Taft College Lady Cougars basketball team on a roll. The Cougars won their sixth game of the season defeating the visiting Cacti of Copper Mountain College 59-50. It was also an exciting night as the TC Athletic Department honored and recognized the outstanding support and assistance of the Admission Department. The Admission Staff were presented at halftime with gifts for their services.
Coach Lagmay said, "The players are buying in and getting better and better every practice and every game. There were moments in the game when we struggled, but we were able to stay poised. Copper Mountain was well-prepped, but our program is full of confidence being fully prepped when we step onto the court. It was great to see the bleachers full of campus and community support as well. Cougar Country is a great place to be!"
Taft outscored Copper Mountain 15-8 in second chance points and outrebounded them 43-34. The Cacti were able to slow down Taft's fast paced attack in transition allowing the Cougars only 7 points.
