The MSJC men's basketball team started 2025 with a home victory on Saturday as they defeated LA Southwest 111-105.
The Eagles trailed by two at halftime but shot over 64% from the field in the second half on their way to 65 points and the win. The non-conference win ended the Eagles 7-game losing streak and improved their record on the season to 4-10 overall.
The Eagles had four players reach double figures in scoring led by 27 points from Elijah Edwards. Edwards also pulled down a game high 15 rebounds. Kristian Jemerson scored 23 points off the bench as he connected on 8 of 11 shots including 3 three-pointers. Kameron Manning-Fuimaono added 18 points as he was also very efficient from the field making 4 of 5 threes and 7 of 10 total shots. Adrian Mosley had a solid all-around game as he recorded 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. Armani Battiste was strong on the glass with 13 rebounds.
MSJC returns to play in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference on Wednesday when they host College of the Desert. Wednesday's game will tip-off at 7pm following the Eagle women's game against COD at 5.
