No. 24-ranked Riverside City College dropped its first Orange Empire Conference contest with a 74-65 loss at No. 29-ranked Cypress College Wednesday.
The Tigers slip to 11-6 on the year and 3-1 in conference, while the Chargers improve to 13-4 overall and also sit at 3-1 in the OEC, which puts a four-way tie for the top spot in the conference standings.
Only Two Tigers finished the night in double figures, with Christian Warren posting 15 points on 4-of-5 shooting. Joby Barnes chipped in 11 points, also only missing one shot from the floor in the game (5-for-6). Tylon Williams added eight points (3-for-6), along with Deacon Toliver (3-for-7).
RCC opened with the first points of the night off a Corey Mitchell layup, but it was the only time the visitors would lead as the Chargers pushed through to the 74-65 victory.
Riverside looks to bounce back at home, hosting Irvine Valley College on Friday at 7 p.m.
