Softball Shuts Out LA Valley

Citrus College Softball traveled to LA Valley College today and picked up their third conference win, defeating the Monarchs 4-0.
Citrus College improves to 8-12 overall on the season and 3-0 in conference games, while LA Valley College moves to 10-14-1 overall and 0-3 in conference.
The Owls quickly went up 2-0 after Rylee Praytor hit a two RBI double to score Alivia Martinez and Sofia Femath in the top of the first inning.
Madelyn Hajj hit her fourth home run of the season, a solo shot in the top of the fifth inning to give the Owls a 3-0 lead.
Citrus added one run in the top of the seventh inning when Eliana Lopez singled to score Jaelynn Eaves. Caitlin Kelley came in to pitch and close out the game in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Owls secured the 4-0 win.
Madelyn Hajj led the Owls, going 1-for-3 with a home run and drew one walk. Rylee Praytor went 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Camilia Abundis pitched six scoreless innings while going 2-for-2 at the plate and drawing two walks. Jaelynn Eaves went 1-for-1 with one run scored, while Sofia Femath went 1-for-2 with one run scored.
Caitlin Kelley pitched a scoreless, hitless bottom of the seventh inning while striking out two batters.
The Owls will be on the road again tomorrow, Friday, March 13th as they take on Santa Ana College at 1 p.m.
