Citrus College Women's Soccer remain undefeated on the season as they picked up another conference win, defeating Antelope Valley College 4-0 last night.
Citrus College moves to 6-0-1, 3-0 in conference on the season while Antelope Valley College falls to 3-5-1 overall on the year.
The Owls were too much for the Marauders to handle early on as they scored in the 9th minute when Aubrianna Mejia launched a shot over the AVC goalie for her fifth goal of the season. In the 25th minute, after her three previous shot attempts, Malani Gonzalez scored off a volley in the penalty area to give the Owls a 2-0 lead.
In the 33rd minute Megan Sewell scored her first goal of the season after she tracked down a blocked shot from an Owls free kick to make the score 3-0. With momentum on their side, the Owls were on the attack again when Alexia Leon drew a foul in the Marauders penalty area to earn a penalty kick. Julianna Gasca stepped up and scored the penalty kick, her fourth goal of the season, in the 33rd minute to give Citrus a 4-0 lead which remained the score at halftime.
In the second half the Owls played well, keeping possession of the ball, playing defensively and only allowing Antelope Valley College one shot. Citrus did earn two corner kicks and took two shots in the second half, but the score remained 4-0 to the final whistle.
Citrus College be on the road to take on Santa Monica College who are also 3-0 in conference games, this Friday, October 11th at 4 p.m.
