Tigers Take Down Jaguars

Riverside City College grabbed a 4-2 victory over Southwestern College Tuesday afternoon.
The Tigers improve to 3-10 overall, while the Jaguars drop to 4-7 on the year.
Southwestern struck first with a run in the top of the third, but RCC responded in the bottom half of the inning. With runners on second and third and one out, Angelina Sanchez scored as the Jaguars got the next out before Jocelyn Romero (2-for-3) came home on an Alysse Flores (2-for-4) RBI base hit.
The Jaguars tied things up in the fifth, but once again the Tigers had a response in the bottom half of the inning. With two runners on, Grace Rogers (1-for-3) drilled a double to right center to send both runners in.
Jessica Gaitan picked up the win in the circle for Riverside, tossing six strikeouts.
RCC hosts LA Mission on Thursday at 4 p.m. before beginning Orange Empire Conference next week.
