WOMEN'S BASKETBALL OFF TO 4-2 START WITH WIN OVER LEMOORE

Marauder Women's Basketball won their home opener against Lemoore College on Saturday. The 61-42 non-conference win brings the Marauders to 4-2 on the season, including a win over a top-10 Palomar team on Nov. 8.
AVC was led by Athieng Bol, who had a game-high 20 points on the way to a double-double with 12 rebounds. The freshman guard from Highland High School leads the Marauders this season with an average of 23.6 points per game. Zaniyah Wyatt, Key'illa Barnes, and Mona Fajardo each contributed 9 points, while Shaniya Sinclair had a game-high 15 rebounds along with 4 points. Additionally, Alia Tate and Niela Marshall each added 5 points, with Marshall also dishing out a game-high 5 assists.
As a team, the Marauders shot 32.4% from the field while holding the Golden Eagles to a shooting percentage of 27.6%. AVC also dominated the boards, out-rebounding Lemoore 52 to 34.
Antelope Valley continues to build momentum as the season progresses. They have a five-game road trip before returning home to face Riverside City College on Dec. 20.
