SAN FRANCISCO – The City College of San Francisco women's soccer is a win away from advancing to the state championships after the No. 4-seeded Rams edged No. 5 Fresno City College by a final score of 1-0 on Tuesday in a third-round game of the Northern California Regionals Playoffs.

CCSF, now 16-2-3 overall, travels to top-ranked Lake Tahoe Community College (19-1-2 overall) for one of two regional final games on Saturday (Nov. 30) at 2 p.m.

On Tuesday, CCSF and Fresno were all tied up in a scoreless defensive battle for the majority of the contest. But finally in the 84th minute, Ashley Rabara broke through for what proved to be the game-winning goal off the assist from Nadia Barron Santiago.

Bailey Perales totaled 6 saves to help post the Rams' seventh shutout over the past nine games and 14th of the season.

No. 1 Lake Tahoe defeated No. 8 San Joaquin Delta College 4-2 in its third-round game on Tuesday. CCSF and Lake Tahoe are meeting for the first time this season with the winner going to the 3C2A State Championships on Dec. 6 & 8 at American River College in Sacramento.

San Francisco is looking to return to the state championships for the first time since 2013. The Rams have reached the regional finals the past two seasons.
