Over the course of their 10-match winning streak, the Cerritos College volleyball team has recorded nine sweeps during that run. They picked up their third consecutive sweep, as they finished off visiting East Los Angeles College, 25-12, 25-11, 25-15 in a little over an hour on Friday. Leading the South Coast Conference South Division, the Falcons (14-2, 4-0) will travel to Pasadena City College (12-11) for a conference crossover match on Wednesday.

The convincing win by Cerritos once again allowed them to extend their bench, although the regular starters did most of the damage. The Falcons started slowly in each of the three matches, but scored points in bunches to recorded big wins. Enabling them to do so was their .406 hitting percentage on the night to go along with 11 service aces.

Sophomore Sydney May (Los Alamitos HS/UC Santa Cruz) drilled home 14 kills and hit a blazing .545, while she also dished out 16 assists, posted six digs and added a pair of service aces. Joining her as an offensive power was sophomore Jasmine Soto-Castro (Schurr HS) who finished the night with nine kills, nine digs and just one attack error, with sophomore Lillianna Peterson (California HS) recording her eight kills in just two sets.

For the second match in a row, sophomore setter Leeya Rubio (Schurr HS) recorded four kills to go along with her team-high 22 assists, while adding five digs and three service aces, with sophomore Monserrat Rodriguez (Gahr HS/Long Beach City College) capping off the night with seven kills, five digs and four aces.
