PORTERVILLE – The Porterville College men's basketball team won consecutive games for the second time this season thanks to a pair of Central Valley Conference wins last week. The Pirates began the stretch on Wednesday with a 74-53 rout of visiting Coalinga College and followed that with a 53-45 victory against Reedley College on Saturday.
The two wins evened up PC's Central Valley Conference record at 2-2 while the squad improved to 6-12 overall.
On Wednesday, David Lee scored a game-high 16 points to lead Porterville. Musah Silah came off the bench to provide a spark with 15 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Jermarcus Brown totaled 14 points and 8 boards while Cedric Louis posted 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Lee once again led the Pirates in Saturday's win, this time pouring in 15 points. Silah had 13 points and 6 rebounds. Brown grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds, Tarik Dacosta posted 9 points with 6 assists, and Louis added 9 boards.
The Pirates will look to keep the momentum going on Wednesday (Jan. 22) when they host No. 14 state-ranked Columbia College in a CVC game at 6 p.m.
