The MSJC men's basketball team picked up their first Inland Empire Athletic Conference win of the year on Wednesday night when they went on the road and defeated College of the Desert 93-86.
The Eagles led by two at the half and built the lead to as much as 17 late in the game on the way to their second straight win. Wednesday's game was originally scheduled to be played at home but due to the high winds in the area was moved to Palm Desert. When the Eagles and Roadrunners play again on February 5th that game will now be at San Jacinto.
James Freeman IV had an impressive offensive outing for MSJC as he connected on 10 of 11 shots from the field on his way to a team high 20 points. Elijah Edwards scored 19 points and had 7 rebounds while Adrian Mosley flirted with a triple double as he scored 14, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out 7 assists. Corion Long and Isaiah Robinson also reached double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
The win makes the Eagles 5-10 overall on the season and they are now 1-2 in IEAC games. On Saturday MSJC will travel to Barstow for a 3 pm conference game. The Eagles will then take a trip to San Bernardino Wednesday January 15th before returning home to host Cerro Coso on January 18th.
