Women's Soccer Snap Winning Streak

Women's Soccer traveled to Bakersfield College last Friday night, October 18th and fell to the Renegades in their first loss of the season. 

Citrus College moves to 9-1-1 on the season and 5-1 in conference games while Bakersfield College improves to 6-5-2 on the season and 3-2-1 in conference. 

The Owls fell behind early in the game as the Renegades scored in the 8th minute to go up 1-0. After taking five shots in the first half, Citrus was not able to tie the game before halftime. 

Bakersfield College struck again scoring in the 50th minute to go up 2-0. The Owls answered in the 57th minute when Sarah Nelson scored her fourth goal of the season to make the score 2-1. 

Citrus could not capitalize on the two other shots they took in the second half as they fell 2-1 in a tough fought road game. 

Bridget Ward took four shots followed by Emily Cherry with three shots (two on goal). Goalie Liliana Miramontes made four saves in the game. 

The Owls will return home tomorrow night, Tuesday, October 22nd, looking for their 10th win of the season in a conference matchup with Glendale College at 6:30 p.m.
