The Citrus College Women's Soccer team traveled to Victor Valley College last Friday night to earn a 2-1 win.
Citrus College improves their record to 2-0-1 on the season while Victor Valley College moves to 1-7-1 on the year.
The Owls faced some adversity trailing by a goal for the first time this season as the Rams scored in the 25th minute to go up 1-0. The Owls could not find the back of the net on their four first half shots and went into halftime still down 1-0.
Citrus raised the intensity in the second half, Bridget Ward scored a goal, assisted by Juliana Gasca, in the 63rd minute to tie the game 1-1. After not allowing the Rams to take a shot all second half, the Owls took the lead in the 84th minute when Alyssa Quiroz scored a goal to seal the win for Citrus. Liliana Miramontes recorded one save on the two shots on goal they faced.
The Owls will return to Citrus Stadium to take on the Norco College Mustangs this Tuesday, September 24th at 6:00 p.m.
