
SAN FRANCISCO – Mary Shunashi Hernandez-Elorza totaled 17 kills and Dayana Gonzalez added 15 kills to help lead City College of San Francisco to a 3-1 Coast Conference interdivision win over visiting Gavilan College on Wednesday.
The 25-14, 25-13, 27-29, 25-16 win snapped the Rams' seven-match losing streak and improved CCSF to 3-16 overall.
Hernandez-Elorza added 8 digs and a pair of aces while Gonzalez also contributed 10 digs and 4 aces. But Maihli Hunkin was on fire on the serve with 9 aces in the match. She also led CCSF with 43 assists.
Andrea Flores had a team-high 15 digs and Maliah Trinidad chipped in with 14 digs. Also for the Rams, Raina Shrimali posted 7 kills, 3 blocks, and 2 aces.
The Rams will look to keep the momentum going when they host Monterey Peninsula College on Wednesday (Oct. 9) in the Coast Conference North Division opener. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
