The Citrus College Women's College Basketball team fell to Antelope Valley College 64-59 in last night's road conference matchup.
The Owls move to 9-6 overall on the season and 0-1 in conference games while the Marauders move to 8-7 overall and 0-1 in conference.
In their first conference game of the season, Citrus College struggled to get shots to fall as they went 21-of-74 from the field and shot only 23.5% from three-point range. The Owls outscored Antelope Valley College in points off turnovers 28-12 but were outscored in points in the paint 38-22 while the Marauders bench outscored the Owls bench 36-5.
Maileeh Suasti led the Owls with 22 points, nine rebounds, a game-high six steals and one assist. Breanna Escobedo dropped 13 points while adding a game-high nine assists, four rebounds, three steals and one block. Leilani Argueta chipped in 13 points with six rebounds and two assists.
Citrus College will look to bounce back tomorrow night, Monday, January 13th at 5 p.m. as they host LA Valley College, a game that was postponed from last Wednesday due to the fires and weather conditions.
