Citrus College Women's Soccer picked up a meaningful conference win tonight as they traveled to Santa Monica College to earn a 2-1 victory.
Citrus College remains undefeated on the season at 7-0-1 and 4-0 in conference while Santa Monica College move to 8-3 on the season, 3-1 in conference.
The Owls were led by freshman Bridget Ward who scored both goals in tonight's pivotal matchup against the Corsairs.
Bridget Ward scored the first goal of the game in the 17th minute off a pass from Emily Cherry to give the Owls a 1-0 lead. About 20 minutes later Ward netted another goal in the 38th minute, assisted by Andrea Meza, to give the Owls a 2-0 lead.
Citrus played a great game defensively, only allowing one goal from their opponent. Goalkeeper Liliana Miramontes recorded six saves in route to the Owls' 7th win of the season.
Citrus College will be back home next Monday, October 14th for a game against San Bernardino Valley College at 6 p.m.
