Volleyball Secures a Dominant 3-0 Victory Over Saddleback
Sophomore Janell Spires was the standout player for Palomar, delivering a stellar performance with 11 kills and a hitting percentage of .364. Spires also contributed significantly in defense, racking up 15 digs, making her a key player in the team's success. While Spires shone brightly, the victory was a true team effort. Sophomore Delina Becker added four kills and 12 digs, while freshman Teiora Tinoisamoa contributed six kills and two block assists. Sophomore Brisa Necochea was also a critical player, with four kills and two block assists while freshman Emma Bambe and Becker added stability with strong defensive plays, tallying 8 digs each.
The Comets' serving game was on point, with sophomores Cadence Young and Ashlynn Craven each recording two service aces. Defensively, Palomar was solid, recording 10 block assists, led by Tinoisamoa's four blocks. The team combined for 61 digs, effectively stifling Saddleback's offense throughout the match.
This victory adds to Palomar's momentum from last season. With a well-rounded team that is firing on all cylinders, the Comets are poised for continued success in their upcoming matches. The Comets will be back home on Wednesday with a match against Mt. San Jacinto College at 5 p.m.
