Palomar College Sweeps Santa Ana, Extends Unbeaten Streak

SANTA ANA, CA (9/4/2024) -- The Palomar College women's volleyball team continues to dominate, sweeping Santa Ana College 3-0 (25-9, 25-10, 25-14) to move to 4-0 on the season. This marks the Comets' best start in over a decade, and they remain undefeated as they prepare for their next challenge.

In their first road test of the season, Janell Spires led the team once again with 13 kills and an impressive .647 hitting percentage, setting the tone for the offense. Teiora Tinoisamoa followed closely with nine kills, hitting at a .467 clip, while Sonsi Jarvis contributed eight kills in yet another strong showing.

Defensively, Cadence Young anchored the back row with seven digs, while Melanie Jarvis added six of her own. Ashlynn Craven and Kylana Madayag were instrumental in running the offense, posting 15 and 14 assists, respectively, ensuring smooth transitions between offensive plays.

What stood out most in this match was the depth of the Palomar roster. New players stepped in, and the level of play did not drop, showcasing the Comets' well-rounded talent. Their ability to maintain high-quality volleyball even with substitutions is a testament to the team's depth and chemistry.

Now sitting at 4-0, Palomar is riding high on momentum and will look to extend their winning streak when they face Cerritos College at home on Friday.
