No. 2-ranked Riverside City College closed out the Battle at the Beach Tournament Saturday against two of the top teams in the 3C2A. The Tigers took down No. 3-ranked Santa Barbara City College 13-10 but fell 12-8 to top-ranked Long Beach City College.
RCC moves to 25-3 on the year heading into the postseason.
Against the Vaqueros, the Tigers put together a strong fourth quarter to secure the win, scoring five goals in the final eight minutes.
Yosra Elseifi led Riverside with six goals, while Abigail Ruiz and Nicole Robertson each netted two goals. Samantha Thomas, Chandler Burrell and Annabella Storar also got in on the scoring for RCC.
For the third time this season, the Tigers had to face the Vikings, who have grabbed the win each time.
Ruiz led Riverside with three goals, while Thomas, Robertson, Burrell, Clare Baty and Elseifi also had a goal in the loss.
The Tigers head to the Orange Empire Conference Championship Tournament, hosted by Golden West College, next week.
